Welcome to my new internet home!
For anyone who is brand spankin’ new around here – Hello! I’m Kristen, but you can call me Kay, and I am just so excited that you’re here with me!
For anyone who came from The Best Of Intentions, which I’m guessing is most of you – You probably want an explanation! So I guess I better give you one!
The Best Of Intentions was so good to me. I started that little piece of the internet on an absolute whim near the end of 2012. I was working part-time in a job where I had a lot of free time and back then I had been filling some of that free time by obsessively reading blogs. Home decor and DIY blogs came first, then came beauty blogs and foodie blogs, and then I accidentally discovered lifestyle blogs and there was no turning back. I decided I wanted one of those too and that was pretty much that. The Best Of Intentions was born in the Athletic Academic Center of Indiana University while I was surround by miscellaneous football players and the women’s basketball team. Oh, and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or what I was getting myself into.
Since that day, The Best Of Intentions has published 365 blog posts (plus a handful more that were made private or deleted altogether), I’ve gained 550 Bloglovin followers, and formed some really wonderful and amazingly weird friendships with some of the greatest people I know. Mostly, I’ve learned a lot. About myself, about blogging, and about where I want to go with my life and how I want to get there.
I’ve known for months that it was time to change some things regarding my blog. I went back and forth a thousand times on what those changes were going to be. Ultimately, I decided that the best thing for myself and for my goals was to start with a blank slate. There’s a much longer reasoning behind my decisions and maybe one day I’ll get into them, but today is not the day for a long-winded explanation.
This space was in no way ready to be revealed today. I suppose I should have waited until I had all of my shit together and things exactly how I wanted them to be. Honestly, that’s not real life – At least it’s not mine. Instead, I thought it’d be helpful to take you guys along on this journey with me. I started my first blog on Blogger and so Blogger is what I know and what I understand. WordPress? Not a clue. Things will probably be changing around here constantly for the next few weeks. On one hand that is going to annoy me, because how unprofessional and obnoxious is that? On the other hand, I really think it’ll be fun to share this journey with all of you, because you’re such a huge part of this journey!
All I can ask is that you bear with me and hopefully you are willing to stay with me through this transition from The Best Of Intentions to Champagne Laced! I’m excited and I very much hope to share my excitement with all of you!
>> My posting schedule will continue to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with occasional bonus posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
>> My social media handles will also be changing today. Links can be found for everything at the bottom of this post.
>> If you followed The Best Of Intentions on Bloglovin to receive my posts, you’ll need to follow Champagne Laced on Bloglovin now. I couldn’t make it work any other way, because hi, I’m not always internet savvy, I just pretend.
>>UPDATE: Several of you have asked how you can get my posts sent to your email. Good question! I don’t know yet! Check back tomorrow and hopefully I will have figured that out!
Now, I feel as if I have been reading WordPress tips, tricks, and advice for weeks and I’m drowning in it. HOWEVER, if you have some awesome advice for me and want to leave a comment or shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org), I would definitely accept. Definitely.
Finally, thank you all so much! I love you, I love you!
